Subject: Our Friendly little discussions
1) Cornel seems to be a lot better at dishing out criticism than
receiving it. He should have his say, however; NEVER censor.
2) Let's get back to programming.
3) I will note that he has not posted for a few days, the described
grandeur of his projects grew exponentially with each message, as did his
vagaries. Suddenly he had MIDI, MOD, VOX, etc. all in one (and yet he
still needed the new SDK, which he claims to have surpassed).
4) He has 'won,' in his terms. Odds are we had the pleasure of dealing
with a gate-crasher, wanting to stir up controversy and grind things to a
complete stop, as he had nothing better to do. If this is the case, then
he succeeded.
5) Forte and Gravis have, together, shown the most incredible user
support I have ever seen. Their constant revision of software, to be
offered as free updates; the SDKs, the personal involvement on the net,
and a retail price of the GUS at least $100 below what they could have
set all amaze me. (They probably would have sold MORE if the price had
been higher, with people mistaking cost for quality just as with the other
soundboards). And then of course, there's the MegaEm story, which I don't
even have to go into.
oh- one final thing - Cornel definitely started the flaming, and if you'll
check the log, Tech Support actually tried to diffuse the situation (told
him to calm down, and then still bothered to take him seriously). And
Cornel, if anything I have said about you is incorrect, more frothing will
neither prove anything nor ellicit a response. You have great code? Send
us a demo. It'd only be good advertising for your services, anyway.
-Sam Mertens, first and LAST time on this subject.
